Industrial Plant Solutions that Look to the Future

Establishing strong roots in the 1960s, Christof Industries grew into a respectable partner in the development, construction and upkeep of industrial plants for industry and energy providers across the globe. The company’s state-of-the-art portfolio of services covers every stage of the life cycle of an industrial plant.

Christof Industries entered the Romanian market in 2005, primarily focusing on repair activities and small projects in refineries. The size of the projects grew rapidly, and in the following years the first maintenance contracts were implemented, thus spreading activities to other sectors and significantly increasing the company’s market share. Currently, Christof Romania is one of the largest providers of services for complex piping systems in Southeast Europe and, in cooperation with its partners, the company has established an all-in pipework service centre near Ploiesti, the centre of Romania’s oil industry. The centre, which is equipped with the latest technology, is the largest and best-developed facility of its kind in the region. The company’s staff in Romania grew to more than 1100 employees, fortifying Christof Romania as a regional leader in providing services to the upstream and to the downstream part of the oil & gas industry,as well as to the fertilizer, food and power industries.

The company’s range of projects covers mechanical erection activities for gas compressor stations, petrochemical plants and power plants. Furthermore, Christof Romania works as an EPC contractor. The service activities have expanded significantly and now include maintenance and repair works for valves, static equipment, pumps and compressors, including the related engineering content. In addition, the local team also performs pipe yard services for oil fields.

Christof Industries CEO Johann Christof’s vision to export the successful “Romanian Model” to other markets, particularly to those outside Europe, is already visible through the fact that Christof Romania became a hub for the international group activities in the oil & gas sector.

Being a part of a fully family owned group became an even bigger advantage for the company than in the past several years, which were marked by a rapidly changing business environment. The long term perspective of the Christof family, supported by their clear commitment to innovation and strong values, has kept the company’s growth sustainable.

Christof Industries’ passion for innovation on all group levels has become their key factor for success. The company promotes innovation not only in the implementation and further development of-state-of-art processes and technologies, but also in their research and development activities and in the partnerships with several universities aimed at supporting the future attractiveness of the group. Examples of the company’s dedication to innovation include several patents in the fields of green energy and energy storage, as well as the path to maintenance 4.0.

“Christof Industries will continue to follow this innovative, responsible and sustainable pathway within the Romanian market”, Mag. Markus Gran, Managing Director of the group’s Romanian operations, promises.
